listen, if sega ever decided to make sonamy fully canon, i don’t want it to be something grand like a kiss or confession. i want it to be casual, like seeing them on a date or sonic casually referring to amy as his girlfriend. heck, i’d even be fine with forehead and cheek kisses. the thing i’ve always loved about sonamy was how soft and subtle it was. something as simple as sonic giving amy a rose or amy giving sonic a bracelet for luck was enough to touch the audience. they don’t NEED a big damn kiss or anything. that would ruin the whole subtlety aspect. we just need more soft and subtle moments like sonic assuring amy he will never leave her, amy telling sonic she’ll always love him no matter what he looks like, them believing in each other, fighting together, going on cute dates… THAT’S the stuff i want.

In Japan, they have canonically gone on dates lol Those moments you mentioned are love hints, and Sonic never confirms nor denies Amy as his girlfriend, but runs from the convo anytime it’s mentioned.
So now we can say it’s CANON, right?
